Enterprise Planning

Very often, a logistics organisation allocates a large portion of its resources to various systems controlling individual aspects of the transportation business. It is very seldom that a central management system implemented is able to make the transportation process efficient and more cost effective.

The PLATO suite of next-generation logistics software is OPSI's fully integrated system that bridges the gap between primary and secondary transportation and manages the entire transportation process from order inception to financial administration. It complements existing order-management, forecasting, warehouse-management and financial-administration systems.

The PLATO suite of products includes:

  • PLATO Scheduler: The scheduling engine that builds optimal loads using sophisticated algorithms that honour operational and physical constraints,
  • PLATO Transact: Collates orders from a variety of integrated order-processing, replenishment and forecasting systems; procures transportation using haulier rating information and on-line load publication; maintains up-to-date load statuses by retrieving vehicle allocations as well as despatch, delivery and proof-of-delivery information directly from the warehouse, manages debtor and creditor contracts and tariff structures to enable the system to allocate accurate transportation costs and revenue information, and more,
  • PLATO Track & Trace: Through GPS tracking, the visibility of shipments is enhanced; trips can be re-allocated in real-time; daily schedules vs. actual tracked routes are displayed in a vector map interface, and more,
  • PLATO Web: Enables planners, administrators, 3rd party hauliers, dispatchers and warehouse managers to log-in to a web interface in order to interact with their segment of the trip. Dispatchers can see which trips are to be dispatched from their warehouse and can update the system with actual quantities. Hauliers are allocated and they are able to accept, reject or query the trip (if, for example, the tariff was not correct) and can allocate a specific vehicle, and more.
  • PLATO Sizer: Enables the conversion of unit sizes from any ERP system to PLATO units.
  • PLATO Availability Manager: Enables curve-based product quantity forecasting.
  • PLATO Setup: A consulting tool that enables companies to run studies via the PLATO Scheduler, which can be setup to run schedules in batch mode over a period of time.
  • OPSI Mobile: Allows you perform a variety of tasks related to your supply chain with a mobile device.
